Tomorrow Greta goes to Minoggie Kennels for the month of June. Our husky, Keisha, is at the bottom right of this URL. Mary and I never got around to getting Greta “boat savvy” so this last final trip to Odell will be…. I could fill in the end in a lot of ways. This is the trip I had always hoped for, a full month rather that a sparse three weeks at what I consider to be Oregon’s best fishing. My son, Dana, will be with me for the first few days and will string the 150′ of electric cords to charge the two batteries in the boat. The constant use of electric down riggers and radar/sonar don’t let the batteries get fully charged by the trolling motor.
I have Mary’s and Keisha’s ashes to mix and scatter in some of our favorite areas of Oregon. I’ve been pondering on words to share about our love for each other and Oregon’s beauty but words will come up short. Both of us were so very lucky to have found each other and enjoyed 11 years, 3 months and three days of Pure Romance! I miss us, we were so much more than 1 + 1. The “band family” are there for me, so my loneliness is at least populated with kindred souls. Dana, Carla and families are supportive but aren’t they are not My Mary. I’ve decided to not travel from here to the end alone, so I’m “window shopping” on match.com for compatible souls in Eugene. I’m going to relocate to a more liberal venue, I do not fit in St. Helens or Columbia county.
I recently met with a group of “band-persons” they stimulated my happy memories. and I sensed acceptance for the path I have chosen. It is a very important thing for me. The band group was important part of our romance, first date then a week or two later we attended our first band event together. We did band trips often.
