Odell preparation…at a slower pace than eBay! And a general update.

I’m enjoying a slower pace of life, eBay was remarkably easy and I was able to recovered some funds, but time intensive. Once I got into the “eBay Rhythm” it was a satisfying experience. Now I’m constructing lists of preparation tasks to get ready for my month at Odell Lake. Mary and I stayed in the same campsite with the same boat slip during recent years. I have friends and family scheduled to be with me on the weekends, so fishing should be pretty fun. Anybody interested in catching some kokanee should contact me. Most of my mid-week days, I’ll be fishing alone, so come on up and enjoy it with me!

I’ve been tying my Kokanee lures, modeled after the “Rasiticle” by the creator, Bill Herzog, from Northwest Wild County. I’ve eliminated the “smile” blades as the Odell kokes seem to be blade shy. I think I have enough supplies to tie this year’s lures, then I’m going to focus on my “greeting card/matting and framing business” dream. He/she who never dreams, never truly lives!

I have also been able to spend more time reading, yes…thriller, escapist novels but I’m reading a very interesting novel, “Split Second” by by Douglas E Richards. He is a NY Times bestselling author which has some interesting “time travel” concepts woven into what is a pretty decent thriller.

I still have to spend time with the boat, making sure all the equipment is aboard. I will load the camper on the truck the last weekend in May and start loading the supplies/food, clothes, mosquito repellent, food and other essential things. I purchased two additional pair of Levi’s, because one pair would get too ripe to wear for a whole month and have anybody want to talk with you. A special thank you to Judy Lugar for the hemming and those cookies! When this trip is over, the boat will get detailed and polished. I will sell her and pursue the next dream!

As long as I’m focusing on the things for which I am grateful, I must say that Patty Higham has the house in such a good state I can entertain the notion of having a realtor do a walk through to prepare for selling the house. Thank you Patty (and Tom). We still have to finish the garage and the basement, but we are closer, sooner, than I thought possible. I am also grateful for my families (band and genetic), who are there for me in a big way. I love those lunches and dinners and the company!
